SPIE Members!

Come watch the eclipse with us! We plan to be on the main quad on Monday to watch the eclipse from 12:51pm to 3:22pm. We will be handing out 25 pairs of eclipse glasses and cookies! If you’re looking for other eclipse activities, see below for public outreach opportunities related to the eclipse. In Chicago the eclipse will hit a peak of 94% coverage at 2:07pm, you don’t want to miss it!

Greetings Scientists,

Are you interested in joining me for public outreach events related to the April solar eclipse? I am looking for 2-3 volunteers for the following events.

Homewood Science Center, STEM Saturdays

https://www.homewoodsciencecenter.org/

April 6th at the Homewood Science Center starting at 10:00 am and ending at 1:00 pm. This event will focus on preparing families and young learners for the solar eclipse. I will be bringing easy-to-use hands-on activities that you will lead during this event.

DuSable Musuem

April 8th at the DuSable Musuem which is a few blocks from ERC. This event will focus on the solar eclipse and will include eclipse glasses for attendees. It would be great if 2-3 volunteers could join me from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm ( there will be a break for viewing the eclipse).

Please replay to this email if you are interested in joining me.

Thank you,

Juliet
